Default tranny temp

I bought a single gauge pod(piller mount) for my truck, and will being installing a tranny temp gauge. Where do i put the probe? I was thinking of deleting the check valve and was wondering if that would be a good spot to put the probe?

Gonna depend on outside conditions. The hotter it is outside, the more accurate it will be. I don't think you will see much more than like a 10 degree difference in reported temp there, and what it is at the outlet. Unless it gets REALLY cold out. (and you live in montana, so yep, it sure does.....) But, if it's really cold out, your trans really shouldn't overheat anyway... right?

as close to where it comes out of the trans as you can get. That'll be the most accurate.
