OK, block the tires and set the e brake, remove the rear driveshaft, get a small pail to catch some t case fluid, remove the four bolts that hold the rear t case driveshaft housing on, then remove it, look for a c clip make sure its there, try moving that shaft in or out. Then get back to us.
Ok ill try that won't be able to get to it till tomorrow. I gotta go to my dads and get a truck to drive. After work tomorrow ill put it in the shop and try that. Thanks for all the helpful tips, don't know what I'd do without all you guys.lol
Yep, a common problem on the t-case is the snap ring that holds the rear output shaft in place likes to fall off, then the shaft walks around, and parts grind themselves to dust. Eventually, the t-case will fail. Sometimes in a spectacular fashion.......
So your sayin try what merc said to do and maybe order them parts and go from there? That is some good news. I'm jus glad its not tranny. A new tranny isn't in a 24 year olds agenda lol. Just glad I got some mechanical ability to work on my own **** with the help of u guys. I love this forum.
Ok so after work I started truck and it drove into shop no problem, took driveshaft off and tc cover and the snap ring still in place and not much movement from shaft. Now what?
