grindin noise. now no gears in tranny

You could put it on extremely sturdy jack stands and try to find the noise. I do not suggest climbing under it. They do fall off sometimes and Id hate for someone to get hurt. You need to isolate the noise so they can help you (because I probably can't lol) everyones throwing guesses from the front axle to the tranny to the transfer case and they're all different. I hope that didn't come out harsh I'm just trying to help you out. When my truck made random noises I was also suggested the tc but after I put it on jack stands it was clearly the front axle. Luckily I didn't have to shell out 600+ for a tc. I was already shopping for one because I thought that was the problem lol.

Ok all thats good to hear, I guess the question is know, Who was playing with your stick! You have checked all the important stuff go for a short drive and keep your ears open for any grinding or a binding feeling in the truck.
With the drive shaft out check the pinion yoke for play.

Let's check it, new gear oil will need the lsd additive to be added. Jack the truck up; with the truck jacked up grab the tire and check for movment side to side up down, then take the tires off and pull the diff cover. Look at the disc packs behind the side gears in the carrier, check for play in the side and spider gears as well. Factory lsd love to blow up; I will keep my fingers crossed for you.
