Default vacuum leak?

after i put my tranny in i lost my radio so i can hear every little noise now. and when im driving there is this whislting from behind the fire wall. and when i give the truck gas the whistle gets louder. and i checked under my dash where i thought i heard it and i can hear it. but cant see it. its really anoying and causing the truck to idle a 700 rpm instead of its usual 600.. i really just need to find out what line it is so i can fix it.. i thinkit may be on the fire wall but im not sure were?

Do all of your a/c switches work? Does your 4wd work? (if you have that) does your cruise control work? Check all of those and it'll help you isolate the vacuum problem because those are all vacuum operated.

Search Wildvents on this forum.

It can also be that your airbox is not on the throttle body correctly. That will cause WHISTLING. If you have a 14x3 air cleaner, then you will always hear whistling.

Seems to me that you have a bad vacuum check valve. Wildvents search should help that.
