2nd Gen Ram Tech1994-2001 Rams: This section is for TECHNICAL discussions only, that involve the 1994 through 2001 Rams. For any non-tech discussions, please direct your attention to the "General discussion/NON-tech" sub sections.
Since I bought my Ram, I have talked to numerous other people in town that own Dodge Rams. (but neither did I before joining this forum) Absolutely none of them knew anything about the plenum, other than 2 of them had the dealer "fix something" when it was consuming too much oil. Both of them had cat failures within a year, and did not know it was realted.
Moral of the story - I am betting that even if one more reduces his oil consumption, the net gain loss would = 1 happier Ram owner / no neglible effect on dependency on Saudi oil......so investent in oil futures is probably relatively secure.....
You know what that "fix something" was right? A PCM flash, and maybe replacing the cat. My 98 went through this. However, we all know know, neither of those corrected the real problem. The worst part of it is, they new what the problem was. But that would cost them too much. SO they figured out how to put a band aid on it. Which also led to a lot of cracked heads for unsuspecting buyers, that waited until the motor would not run at all, before bringing it in to the dealer.

Ok, parts should be here today so i can get this done; just waiting on the UPS truck to get here. Are there any last minute things i need to know before i get started?
Also I want to thank all of you for your help.
Label or color code anything you have to unplug or unscrew that has to be plugged or screwed back in. Knowing what goes where will save a lot of time when you put it back together.
