Default Front Axle OFF CENTERED??? Help!

OK, so I was greasing up all my nipples yesterday...(that sounded bad) and noticed that my front axle appears to be OFF CENTERED! My shocks and coils have a slight slant downwards towards the drivers side and my sway bary links are too!! The truck rides well enough, still wanders a little but not as bar as before I replaced the track bar and sway bar links, but this cannot be good! If you look at along the side of the truck from the back you can see where the driver side tire actually sticks out a little past the fender where the passenger side does not.

I do take the truck off road a bit, but am always slow and really take my time as to not break anything.

I even had an alignment done last week and they didn't notice or didn't bother to tell me.

Should I be concerned???

Has the truck been wrecked?

No. It was my fathers truck. Besides clobbering a hugh porcupine 2 years ago, there has been no accidents.

The whole point of the track bar is to keep the axle centered....

I think there's a problem that the shop having done the alignment didn't rectify that, assuming it was present at the time....or they induced it. Otherwise it happened after the alignment.

Is your Tbar adjustable?

Edit: Control arms ok?

How can i tell if the track bar is adjustable? I do believe it is an OEM one. Sorry, I'm only learning still.

If its an OEM one, then most likely its not adjustable, however I see you have a 3" lift on the truck from your sig info. Is that still correct?

Adjustable will have a thread end so that it can be shortened/lengthened.

Like this example: http://thurenfabrication.com/stocktb.html

Pictures of your current setup would do wonders here....

It is a 3" suspention lift. New lower control arms and coils in front and add-a-leaf in the back. I will make a point of uploading some pictures later tonight. I'm at work right now and do not have access to my pictures.

I was told that the stok track bar would be fine for up to 3" lift., was that wrong?

Fine for certain values thereof.... When the front axles travels, is also moves side to side. On compression, it moves to the passenger side, on extension, it moves to the drivers side. This is because of the track bar. It is fixed length, the axle end moves in an arc. There is no avoiding that. You can recenter the axle with an adjustable track bar, so that it is centered at static ride height, but, that's about it. It's still gonna move side to side.

I'm fine with it moving left to right. I was concerned because I noticed that it appears as if it would be putting strain on my shock mounts and sway bar linkage. It looks like my axle sits left almost an inch.

I heard about replacing the stock track bar with an HD track bar (an ajustable one) would that be a good idea?

As HeyYou explained eloquently, its plain Geometry. You really should have gotten an adjustable given the 3" lift. That is the typical break point to change from stock. BTW, is your rig a 4x4?

Most definitely, the axle should be centered when parked.

Edit: Should have asked earlier....why did you have it aligned a week ago?
