I have that same problem too. It'll take a city block before it fully disengages. Check out the link below

mine just needed a good cleaning.. i tore into it today, i think something was making the actuator stick when its trying to disengage, if it keeps acting up ill just replace it with one of those posi locks

I'm replacing my tomorrow with a posi-lok. I ordered the kit from a seller on Ebay. I was a little disappointed when I received it to find is was actually the Alloy USA branded one. But a friend of mine has the 4x4 Posi-Lok. We compared the two and couldn't find a lick of difference between the two.

I'm wondering if Alloy USA buys the kits from 4x4 Posi-Lok or they both get them from the same manufacturer and just rebrands it.

In any event, if you plan on going the manual route don't shy away from the Alloy USA one. I paid $124.00 with free shipping!

the manual cad from posilok/alloy is the best mod i've done. just being able to shift it and feel that it did what you wanted is very satisfying. much better than sitting there rocking it back and forth waiting for the light to come on to indicate that it engaged.
