Default Spark plug issue and other questions

Ok guys I have a few questions and mainly just one problem. The problem is that about 6 months ago i had the truck in to get all new plugs and wires. I didnt have the time to do it cause I was always working. Well since that had been done i always noticed a I guess you call it a "spark knock". Well today I decided to finally address the issue. First off the "plug and wire" seemed to be loose. The wire came off alot easier then it should have like it wasnt seated well. When I removed the plug it wasn't put in the full way.

plug had alot of junk at the base of the threads that I cleaned off and it seats the full way in now. Also they put in the E3 plugs which I told them not to do.

Now to address the wire issue.

thats what the wire looked like due to the plug not being seated down in the whole way.

The next issue.

No cap on the end of the plug. And its not in the wire boot as i thought maybe it was.

My question is with this have gone on for so long could it have caused any damage? I plan on replacing plugs and wires tomorrow or the next day. I dont drive the truck much anymore due to having a Harley now..

Now when I was looking at all of this I noticed something I had never seen before.

Is this all factory? Or could at some point someone of had something installed on the truck? There is also a "female" plug on top of the brake booster that has nothing hooked up to it. Does anyone know what it may be?

Sorry this was so long but I didnt see any need to start more than one thread!!! Thanks guys and I hope yall got some insight for me.

The extra electrical plug is most likely for some accessory you don't have. No big deal. As far as the spark plugs and wires go. You need new ones of both IMO. That's what you get for not doing it yourself.

Yea I usually try and do everything myself but at the time I was working crazy hours. Thats why I am doing everything myself now. I just wasnt sure if that plug not being seated would cause some kind of damage. And that electrical plug and wire kinda had me interested on what it could have possibly have been...

Vw does anybody know what the plug is for??

I would be right back at the shop with the photos you posted and get in their a**! You pay them do do work, and that's how they did it?

I would make them (or try to anyway) pay for new plugs and wires.

Has your plenum been fixed?

Do you have four wheel ABS?

Replace ALL the plugs. The outside of that wire is burnt, if it isn't too bad, you can live with it. If it is all dry and crunchy (really burnt) replace it, or all of them. On you.

Dodge put pretty much the same wiring harness in a whole range of trucks. It was easier/cheaper than having wiring harnesses that are different for all the available ways the truck could be ordered, so, extra plugs aren't that big of a surprise. May also be a diagnostic port of some sort. Who knows......

+1......... And if you want to know what that plug goes to, download the service manual and trace it.

Well I no longer give my business to the shop due to some other issues and problems that I have had there. And as for the plenum I'm not sure if has been done by the previous owner or not. That is one thing that I will be checking when I do new plugs and wires.
