Default removing catalytic converter

In my state my truck is exempt from emmisions so I wanna cut my cat off&weld a straight pipe in its place, also any idea if that will throw codes for the 02 sensor&any idea what size pipe that is?I may try to run duals if I get around to it.

I'm fairly certain you'll get a CEL if you don't do the spark plug non-fouler for the post-cat O2 sensor.

His truck is a 95, so, no post-cat O2 sensor to worry about.

You can lose it, and it will be fine. But, since you are modifying pipes anyway..... have a look at the jegs off-road y-pipe. The y-pipe on these trucks is the biggest restriction in the exhaust. Solve that issue, and enjoy some extra ponies.

if i was you, i would just hollow out the cat, so you can leave your o2's in place and fine.

I have the jegs y-pipe, and love it!
It finished of my exhaust system nicely and added a little extra growl.

I also drove around for a day or two with just shorty headers and the y-pipe, all I can say is WOW! My ram sounded like a monster truck! Lol

"if i was you, i would just hollow out the cat, so you can leave your o2's in place and fine".

And if I were you, I'd leave the cat in place so you don't dump a bunch of crap into the air we all have to breathe. Plus, hollowed-out cats usually sound like crap.

If you're hell-bent on removing your cat, it's simple enough to weld an O2 bung onto whatever pipe you replace it with.

I believe my '95 had a 2.5" pipe exiting the stock cat. But to remove it completely would require replacing it with some kind of y-pipe with 02 sensor bung as others have mentioned. If it were me doing all this I'd be seriously looking at going to a 3" pipe after the y while your in there for max benefit. Of course you'd need a new muffler and tailpipe if you went that way.
