Default Dodge Owner Needing Help Solving A Friend's Chevy Problem

Well i do own a 1997 dodge ram and look under the 2nd generation all the time. That's why im posting under this section because you guys will probably know what is going on.

He has a 2000 Chevy 1500 and its making a loud whistling noise. He nor the mechanic know for sure where it is coming from. They replaced several things but it is doing it again.

Here is a video of it:

What do you guys think?

Can't help with the problem, sorry. But your post should at least be in the 2nd Gen, General discussion forum.

That solves one problem, only to create another one.

If you pull the belt and run it, does it still make the noise?

One??

From what goes on in here, I'm surprized this isn't an online junkyard. Nobodys truck will run. If it does, it won't move, or it makes every noise in the book, plus ones that nobody has heard about before.

If it does make it down the road, it won't stop or goes in every direction but straight.

I could go on, but I'll be nice.

And I'm just playin, don't get mad.

To the OP: sounds like a bearing. Do as Archion said and go from there.

He knew you guys would post against chevy hahaha. But he replaced the alternator and belts, pulleys, and he put in a new fuel pressure senser.

And it isn't a constant noise. It only does it every once in a while. When you hit the throttle it gets louder but when you get past a certain rpm it stops.

And my ol ram runs like a champ...because it's all stock for now
