Shiny is from the flash. How did they align those bolts, back there perfectly, with the same exact orientation in dust? And, no paint missing on the sides of them? Bolts must have been loose?

They guaranteed it would fix the problem, and it didn't. And guaranteed that no more p0753 codes would register. A few miles later, it registered one and the same overdrive problem still existed. Sorry, I believe I was 'taken for a ride', literally. I should have asked for them to keep the old parts and give them to me when I picked it up. I keep forgetting to do that.

They should offer you the old parts, before blithely tossing them in the bin. The pan may have actually been removed........ it has that dirty/clean appearance I am used to after a trip thru the parts washer... kinda. No guarantee that it wasn't just cleaned up in place though...... but, the tech would KNOW that not doing anything certainly wouldn't fix the problem, and it would count as a 'comeback' on him..... so, they probably did replace some parts, just not the right ones.

I will call tomorrow. Tell 'the rep' that they promised to fix it and that the problem is still there, along with the code. I will tell him that I want him to fix the problem, but I will not pay one more penny for bad work. The real problem here is that took my entirely monthly retirement monies. I can't afford to waste any more money on it. But, I don't want to 'give it' to the dealership. Rock and a hard place.........

Sadly, the van was in great shape, no transmission problems, before the 'routine servicing' of the transmission flush. Sheesh (smacks forehead).

Hey You, how would I go about finding a mechanic, from the forums, in my general locale?

Mainly by talking to your friends, or friends of friends, within a reasonable driving distance. (we had folks that would drive 70 miles to come see us when they needed their vehicles worked on...... even if it had to be towed...... we had some really dedicated customers....) What is reasonable is going to be up to you. I used to talk to folks that I met in parking lots and such, that drove older cars, and ask THEM where they went as well. Worked great when I was in Cleveland....... found a reliable garage that wasn't expensive, and actually FIXED what I brought it in for.

When ever I had to get work done that was beyond me, I'd have it towed (AAA) 100 miles away from me because I trusted that mechanic...then he got arrested for stealing from his shop over the 10 years he worked there. He stole over $750k threw the years. That's when I started turning wrenches faithfully.

Sorry, HeyYou, you misunderstood. How can I find a mechanic on the Dodgeforum.com forums (here) from Arizona. If I can drive it, I am willing to travel a distance to find a good one.

I really meant it when I said earlier that everyone I have spoken to in my local area is unhappy with the mechanics available to them here. I can't get a recommendation because no one is happy.

J415, you are right, when I crawled under it today I decided that I would be a thousand dollars wealthier if I had just done that earlier and dropped the pan myself and changed out the fluid and filter. Just too dang cold and I am too dang old. (smile)

Cold? In Arizona? Really????

I understand the too old too cold thing though. All too well.

We have a selection of members from Arizona here...... there isn't a way to search them out though that I am aware of.... UnregisteredUser is near Vegas.... not sure how far that is from you.... Most of the folks here are just shade tree mechanics. There are some retired mechanics..... (me, for instance...) but, not sure how many of them still do side work... (I don't.... if I can help it....) Although, I think that a fair number of folks here, I would trust LONG before I would trust any shop......

Any chance you could find a warm place to work? Or, how about local schools with an automotive program? They will usually not charge labor, you just pay for parts, and they get a substantial discount on those as well. Worth a look anyway. (Vo-Tec center?)
