Rain and cold next 3 days, with possible snow on the valley floors. BRRRR for an Arizonan

I have a call in to the service rep, but he has today off. Will call again tomorrow. I am still fuming over it all. That is a lot of money to pay and get nothing in return - same problem exists.

Normally it is warm here and I do crawl under the car, but I am in the process of gutting out a bathroom and this van has taken up a great deal of my time for a month now, just taking it back and forth to shop that can't seem to do their jobs correctly. $1200 brakes - passenger rear still makes the same metal on metal noise. Transmission flush that the mechanic promised me would not do any damage has caused this transmission problem. Guy who put a new radiator hose on never tightened it down, it worked it's way off and left coolant all over my driveway. Let's see, what has gone right - oh yeah, brake fluid changeout (or maybe that is causing the squeal - sheesh).

For today, the van stays in the driveway and I work on the bathroom and some of my rare cancer website maintenance.

Are you around Flagstaff area? If so, I can check and see if any of my old buddies are still around. I used to hang around a "car guy" bar when I was there several years ago, but left in 04.

And the dealer sending you something wanting to buy your vehicle is a sales guy trolling the service logs. Standard lizard protocol (don't ask how I know).....

Took it back today and 3 1/2 hours later, they told me it was another transmission solenoid and that they would not charge me to drop the pan again but they would charge me for this solenoid. Okay, not happy about it, but okay. I stayed with it to make sure that they actually dropped the pan and did the work.

Another 4 hours sitting there and they said the mechanic test drove it and all was good. So, I asked the service manager to also do it. 15 minutes later, the service rep calls me in and says it is still not fixed, but they were going to get me a rental truck, at no cost to me, and they would get it figured out. Here is the real kicker, they took me to Enterprise to pick up that rental vehicle and there were 5 other people there getting rentals courtesy of that same dealership, with similar problems as me. This is not a good sign.....

All 3 transmission solenoids have supposedly been changed out and the fluid should be super clean, but I had him give me the old solenoid from today and it was covered in gritty transmission fluid. Really not a good sign.....

Shoot. I don't know anyone down that way. I used to beat it to Phoenix or Tuscon for the weekend this time of year. Way to cold in Flag!

I'm about to head for the pillow but I've got a message out to my kid in Tucksen -- between her and her husband they're almost sure to know a good outfit. If I don't get a response shortly it'll be tomorrow before I can fling the good words.

UPDATE: Kid's got classes tomorrow so it'll be afternoon before she can bug her husband about it. I'll update here when I hear something.

I had that same error...they are rare I've been told UNLESS the valve body is partially plugged and obstructing flow which by the sounds of it you had it flushed which can cause this...in my case it was pieces of aluminum from a failed torque converter which caused minr to plug throwing codes for both solenoids and even a temp error. My transmission is being rebuilt now and hopefully will be done today.
BTW if they jerk you around about the valve body keep in mind you can purchase them professionally rebuilt solenoids and all for $200.00 on ebay.
