Heater not working very well at idle.

I already filled it with water and the flush. I've got about 2 1/2 hrs of driving in today. The flush just says to leave it in and drive for 3-6 hrs driving can be spread across multiple days. You think it will freeze if i park in the garage? i could finish the flush tonight but id rather do it in the daylight.

If it will stay anbove freezing in your garage overnight, it should be OK. Even if it gets barely freezing, a lamp under the hoow will prevent any problem. A hard freez that will freez the water in the radiator will be the biggest issue, because that will freeze before a warm block. What is the forecast there for tonight?

FWIW, my garage (attached) doesn't go below 50 if the doors stay closed, even when it's hovering right around zero outside.

got it all finished up. i have air that is hotter then i can ever remember having. It still gets hotter when i get the rpm's above 1000. but im not concerned about that.
My next question is should my a/c compressor be running? i noticed while i had the truck running and the heater on high that the a/c compressor would kick on for about 10 secs every few mins. then i unhooked it and finished everything up and let the truck run for about ten minutes and i plugged the a/c compressor back in and it kicked on and stayed on. I dont know how long it would have stayed on cause i turned off the truck. but is it suppose to be coming on like that?

On certain settings, notably, any with a 'defrost' component, and a couple others.... the compressor is indeed enabled. The reasoning behind this is: Refrigerated air carries less moisture, and thus is 'more efficient' at clearing the windows. My take on that is: If I need to use the defroster, ALL the air is ALREADY refrigerated, as it is more than likely WINTER.....
