Default help identify 318 or 360

Hey guys I finally got to order my SCT and now there's a problem! Sent Hemifever the info on the truck and the P/N on the computer and he told me the computer is for a 318. I looked at the balancer and it is externally balanced. I know it came with the 360 from the factory per the build sheet and sticker under the hood. The truck seems to run fine I just always assumed it had the death flash because the engine sounds like the timing is retarded. I had never driven a Dodge truck before I bought this one so I had nothing to really compare it to power wise; just figured it's a big heavy truck with 3.55 gears so it's not going to be a rocket lol. Will the 360 run the same with the 318 computer? Thanks for any info.

It's cast on the block. Judging by this pic I think it's the passenger side?

Apples and oranges but my 5.2 ran great with a 5.9 Mopar PCM.

Awesome thanks! I found the # 53020006 on the driver side. Couldn't see the # after it but I guess it's safe to assume it's a 360?

Maybe THE PO had to get a computer swap. Or he had to get an engine swap and put the 318 into it. But then again you have the externally balanced engine. Are you positive that you see a dampener and you are not just looking at the crank pulley? I just have to ask.

OR

Someone's computer failed and they got another computer and had it reflashed for a 5.9. That can be done.

If the 8th digit in your vin code is a Z then it came from the factory with a 360.

Thanks for the help guys. I was able to see where it has 360 on the block this morning. It helps when it's light out and not almost 2am lol. Vin is Z, sticker under hood says 360, build sheet says 360, and it's externally balanced so my best guess would be like CPTAFW suggested and that theh PO swapped out the PCM with one out of a 318. I don't know if this PCM was reflashed for a 360 or not but I'm hoping the SCT will really wake the ol girl up!
