My experience with headers on an off road vehicle was terrible.
They fall apart after a few years of crossing streams, vibration and heat killed them within a few years after that.
Had to deal with leaks, cracks and blowing gaskets.

I agree with y pipe and high flow cat.

Stock manifolds are more durable.

Really? I'm kind of partial to JBA's.

For the love of God, don't buy hedmans... Not only are they a waste of metal, their customer service SUCKS.. I had a run in with them, and basically wasted $100 on a differential cover that didn't come close to fitting.. anyway:

Want gains? Ditch the OE y pipe.. anything you do without doing that is a waste.. JBA, gibsons, eddies, pacesetter.. whatever.. leave the OE y and you're wasting money.. I'd go so far as to wager OE manifolds through a decent y pipe will far out perform any name brand shortie that retains the OE y... Yup.. that big a deal..

I am very happy with my Gibson headers, put them on in 08 had them off this summer and reused all the org gaskets and bolts without any gasket leaks. I am not one for reusing gaskets at all but they were in mint shape. Gibson rocks as far as I am concerned. Probably the most maintenance free headers I have ever owned.

Edit: I am seeing two differant headers on that e bay page, at the top it says ceramic and then the ad says chrome GP301 they are not the same, GP301S-C are the ceramic ones. If you go with the chrome ones make sure you wipe off any finger/hand prints before you start the truck or else you will burn the prints/grease into the chrome.

I like to make some graphs out of marketing brochure data and let the science do the talking.

Well, in my case I don't have a Y- pipe since I did have true douls run on the truck this past summer. I did make a offer on the Gibbsins last night. Waiting on a reply, but want know about the offer until I get home from work tonight.

My take on the Gibsons is really based upon talking to other guys and reading what others have written about their own experiences with them, and a couple of reviews I've read. I don't often pay attention to reviews in magazines because they're just extensions of manufacturer's marketing departments, but FWIW those I've seen have been glowing. I'm very happy with my Gibson cat-back, anyway, which seems to do what Gibson said I could expect.

Given my druthers I'd have a set of Doug Thorley Tri-Y's instead but they've stopped producing them. If I'd known that the last set I saw was the last one I'd ever see, I'd have sold my mother-in-law to the circus sooner.
