I only speak from experience. I bought a pair thinking it was a simple bolt on...boy was I wrong!!! I had to grind away A LOT of the manifold mating material because was significantly interfering with the spark plugs. I spent 3 hours grinding then checking to see if it fit. THEN, when I got them to "fit", I started to bolt them in by doing the easy ones that were freely exposed. When it came to bolting in the bolts that were located under the bends of the manifold, that was a no go. I had to do them in 1/4 turn increments because there was almost no room. 2 1/2 to 3 hours later, when they were all bolted in, I go down to bolt in the y pipe and its off by about 6 inches. Worst purchase I've made. Maybe others have ran these headers with success, but I can almost assure you that there was some fabricating in one way or another. If I had to do it again, I'd go with summit headers. Just my 2 cents though...

I'm using the cheep eBay ones too, it also broke on me recently, also on the DRIVERS SIDE. Worst thing I've ever done in my life to replace. I actually cut a hole in my inner fender (metal part) and ran the ratchet threw there to get a bolt to tighten, made it much much easier. Oh, mine also broke right on the weld of the flange.

Pacesetters are fine. The bad one's are are the one's made in China. Basically, the headers that go for $180 or less. Different people sell them on ebay for, roughly, the same price but they all come from the same vendor.

if you look closly at the photos they dont all appear to be the same headers... there look to be at least two different headers on there right now for under $200... look closly at the collectors and area around them.

some have rough cast looking collectors flanges and some look to be smooth machined...

The first two are the same header. Still wouldn't install them even if I could get them for free. To each his own though.

Headers are a waste of money(as we all see time and time again) . Unless you are going full tilt with a 408 or something. A high flow cat and the off road Y is money better spent.

yeah but they sound cool ... I was hoping to replace my high flow cat with the new one I have sitting here because the headpipe the 23285 magnaflow system comes with looks like swiss cheese and rotted though and split... also the decription said its a stainless cat... apparently its some kind of cheap stainless because its magnetic and my old one is rusty?

point made..... Mine appear to be leaking at the gasket though.... they were installed when I bought the truck.
most of the modifications made to these things like lifts and bigger tires have negative trade offs but hey We still do them

on a sidenote Sheriff420 uses the ebay headers and seems to have good luck with them?
