Someone has been in there before?

That IS strange...... I really don't think they can escape on their own.

The previous owner had the transmission rebuilt, I'm not sure what all they did, if it was a full out rebuild or just a few small things, I think it was a full rebuild, anyway...

My THEORY, when it was rebuilt the shop didn't bother to replace the tcc/od solenoid assembly, and somehow before the rebuild the O rings either vanished or rotted away, I dunno....

There is no way they can get out the top. It's mind boggling....

Hey, glad you got it fixed.... Did you drop the VB? The hole for the screw at the connector screws into the top of VB.

Nope, didn't have to drop the valve body. This is a picture I found, may not be exactly the same as the 46RE, but the part we moved is the same and marked by arrows.

Remove the little plate then a spring falls out and when you least expect it a little cup looking like thingy falls out. Oh, when you take that piece (name?) off a spring shoots out the side at you....

The hole for the screw is on the top of that piece.

It's slightly more work getting the rest of the assembly out.

Also, to keep the red paint scheme going we painted the transmission pan red, looks good, will try to get a photo later when it warms up a little.
