yes you can replace the factory 3.55 gears with the correct 4.56 ones for the correct axle type the 1500 uses... Chrysler 9.25 in the rear and Dana 44 in the front.
the swap is not something I recommend anyone do...it takes some skill and experience to get it setup right or it wont hold up long. there are things like correct "backlash" that need to be addressed of they will wear funny and take out bearings as well.

Air reservoirs as part of your armor/equipment are great in concept. However, they just don't merit the money to buy or build when you compare to what's readily available for air systems.

You'll want to take care of what air pressure to go down to when on sand and subsequently how you drive. Without beadlocks I guess 10 psi is maybe the lowest ever to go, but for me I'd probably be 12 psi. Not saying 10 psi is improper as tire load rating, age, and it's performance goes into that self determination.

Additionally, if you do pop a bead off, then you need to be prepared to know how to reseat it or have your spare tire in useable condition. Resetting a bead...is a joy on some tires (if you have what you need and know what to do), while other tires are just ones you'd rather burn (like 16.5s). lol

Lastly, you can drive on road to gas station for refilling, just keep the speed down like max 40 mph. Getting a portable air compressor can range from $40 to $100 and depend on cfm ability and duty cycle. More $$$ mean higher duty cycle and faster cfm. Installation of OBA is pretty useful. I have a thread in the 2nd discussion section of installed ARB using a tank and there is another thread for a York compressor. As with everything...come up with your plan...

I haven't found anything so far but since we've had a couple warm days I've realized what my problem is with my transmission. Anytime the tranny is cold it has trouble getting out of first and you have to accelerate and decel at least three times before you can get it to find fourth, it's worse when it's cold outside. And when it's good and warm out it almost acts right, I usually have to help it a little into third and sometimes into lockup, my question is, is there anything I can adjust to remedy this or help it a little or is the tranny toast? It also has 268,000 miles and has had a couple tranny filter changes in the last three of or four years

May be governor pressure sensor or solenoid going belly up. What year is your truck? (you really should put that info in your profile, and/or your sig.....)

Put the info in your profile as well, that will actually show up, even when posting from a phone.

My previous post does indeed apply to you then.
