Edit: This is going to be a long project I figure about a year before all is said and done, The truck they are going under is a 96 rc/sb 2nd gen, Keep your eye's open on what motor will be going in it.
Hint BBM Hemi,203/205 double down t case set-up

That will be sick! I'll keep an eye out for your build thread

Alright so I don't know a lot about gear changes, if I put in a new differential my backlash has to be reset because because of the new part correct? And once a set of gears has been used can it be reused and expect to last as long?

I'm going to say yes to the first question just for conservative sake. The following link (not meant to rib you) should elaborate.

How long has your current gears been in use?

As far as I know, any new set of gears will last, pursuant to proper installation as the prerequisite. People sell used R&Ps often. This is based on my own research and nothing more. Speak to a few shops and hodge/podge the questions to them.

So long as the gears are set up correctly, they will last longer than the rest of the parts in the differential. Doesn't matter new or used.

Alright thanks y'all. looks like I got a sick deal on a set of axles, but the truck is probably gonna have to give way to the car. shes gotten better since the new bearing and switch back to cheap gas, so speed comes first...

I was having a hard time with sand to( granted it was river bottom sand not desert sand) the trick was to air down my hankooks to about 10 psi then I had no trouble at all. Before that I just baried it after a few feet.

Yea a bigger footprint usually helps, but I have no way of airing them back up while I'm out there, has anybody heard of sealed bumpers for holding air to air your tires back up?

Never heard of the bumpers but if I remember correctly their was some guys that used the roll cage of their jeep to hold air. So i dont see why you couldnt use a bumper to do the same sort of thing

My buddy had one on his 85 dodge in GA, it was custom and kinda ugly but I thought it was a great concept and since it was a big bumper
It would work for a while
