Someone be a pal and show me a mechanical gauge at oreillys, advanced, auto zone or somewhere local through their website...I've mentioned a mechanical gauge to all these places locally and they always direct me to sunpro gauges... :/

Mine reads about the same on 10w30. The gas gauge does appear to be reading a little high in the second pic.

See if a shop will hook it up to a mechanical gauge for free, if you have a guy you usually go to, he'll probably help you out.

What a bunch of maroons. You don't need something high zoot -- the little dude intended to be mounted under the dash would work fine. At NAPA, it's part number BK 5011708, under $20 in most stores.

mine does that all the time. even while driving goes up and down right over 40 and right below. i was told it might be my oil pressure sending unit next to the distributor.

I heard a long time ago that when you're burning valves, the oil pressure swings dramtically. I dont think its the same thing though. Just puttin it out there

Valves won't have anything to do with it.

Oil pressure is NOT constant. The pump is drive off the cam, so, pump speed varies with engine RPM. There is a blow-off valve in the pump to prevent getting too much pressure, but, that's it. So long as pressure is 10 or above at idle, and goes up about 10 pounds per 1000 RPM, it's working as it should.

I think if you look closely you can see the gas needle move a bit
