I already bought the gauge from glowshift and when I cleaned off the tranny line today in order to cut it and install a tee I discovered that the lines were pretty rusty, to rusty to work on. So until I can afford to buy a new tranny line (money is real tight) to tee into i wanted to hook up the gauge to the test port. Is it the test Port on the drivers side kinda above where the tranny lines go into the transmission? And if so what gears does it have fluid in?

Download the free FSM from the FAQ/DIY section and you'll find the port you are looking for.

Port 4 is the accumulator port, which also has fluid by it at all times.

Oh okay i will go with port 4 then.
Thank you Hey you.
Just curious how come taking the temperature in the transmission is not as accurate as in the line going to the cooler?

Because some of the ports don't have constant flow, while they may have PRESSURE present, it's static pressure until specific circumstances are met. Taking the temp right at the point where the fluid is exiting the trans, to go to the cooler, is THE most accurate spot to get a measurement.

Off road,

Did you just tap into the fuse box with an "add a circuit"? I gotta do mine this coming week and I am not worried about splicing in the manifold, just worried about wiring it all up correctly... I have the glowshift gauge and just might give them a call....

Thanks for any input!

Brad

Z, how did you install the sending unit in the cooling lines? Did you cut the line and put a flange fitting tee in with a threaded branch?

Didn't it come with directions? If not, I think they have them on the website.
