Three oil changes later and she's looking purty clean.

Waiting till tomorrow to take a test drive

I hate to say it but by the way the entire inside of that intake was so caked and that the gasket wasnt too bad or broken I'd say you have a blowby issue from worn rings or a totally failed pvc valve.... have you checked compression recently? or changed the pvc valve? it looks as if the oil was sprayed into the intake from the pvc port...

Are you talking about the old gasket for the plenum plate or the manifold gaskets? The old plenum gasket was completely gone, not a piece to be found.

Compression is good and evenly worn through all the cylinders. I didn't see any blowby, but I haven't changed the PVC valve

Grab one from the dealer. They actually have the correct flow rate, and are less than ten bucks.

No tools required. Pull the old one, stuff in the new one. Takes five minutes.
