Default Need help with timing chain replacement. Please!

In the garage and cant figure it out and I dont want to damage anything.
Im doin the timing chain and cant get the crank pulley off. Does it require a puller or should it come off without it? I know the balancer needs a puller.

You need a harmonic balancer puller. You can rent one from a parts store like O Reilly's

For the pulley and harmonic balancer? or just the harmonic balancer? I thought and of course I could be wrong? but I thought the pulley came off without a puller?

There should be three little hole in the pully around the center. Yous can also buy a kit from Habour Freight for a about the cost of the rental. The quality will be crap but in a pinch it could work.

Need a three jaw puller for the crank gear. All you really need to do is get it to break loose, and then it will pull off by hand. If you aren't reusing the gear, just put a pry-bar behind it, and give a couple gentle taps. Should pop right off.

the pulley on my 01 bolted to the harmonic balancer with about 3-4 small bolts. i don't recall if the big crank bolt had to also come off before the pulley or after.
