Default 95 ram rear band adjustment

hello! im new to the forum and i know this question has been brought up im sure alot. my 95 rear band is just dangling down and the strut is in the pan the trans was rebuilt about 35k ago. transmission shifts great in forward gears but no reverse(obviously) i am very mechanically inclined but im not sure how the strut goes up into the band arm and how to adjust. It has been inconvenient not having reverse and even more inconvenient having a spare low milage 96 trans that i cant use

Where ya at? I may be interested in the 96 trans.

In the faq section, are factory service manuals available for download in PDF format. Grab the 95 version, and everything you need to know will be in there. Including how to readjust that band.

Welcome to DF.

im quite a drive from you im in zanesville ohio odometer read 90k and i beleive its a fresh rebuild too the convertor still has fresh paint on the teeth and trans is exceptionally clean. i think for the most part i get the procedure its just how this strut goes back in. i feel my trans is still good because my low gears are fine because the strut is not grabbing the drum i have no reverse. argh! need to locate a 46rh.

thats a nice pic i actually need something showing the reverse band. probably need to remove the valve body to put it back in. ive only had the 96 trans for a few days and hes a close friend and guaranteed it was in great shape i gave him $350 thing is i have a late model 95 early 96 and i know some 95s had the electronic trans in fact on the 96 trans on the throttle body shows 95 markings so my truck must have been a hair short of the electronic trans run.

Reverse band has got to be a similar setup..... I can't find a good pic that you can actually SEE though.....

If you can find a buyer for the trans, go for it. When I have some cash, I might check back and see if you still have it. I don't need on yet...... I want one to rebuild.

Best way to know is to call a JY and ask. They have software that tells what fits what. I wish I had the software myself.
