NP231J vs NP231D
Okay, my transfer case is cracked all to hell and absolutely just puking fluid. My friend has a Jeep wrangler with an NP231J on it that he is selling, will I be able to use the back half of the housing on mine NP231D? The casting number is the same on both pieces, (C-16117) so I'm assuming the housing is identical, just with different tailshaft yokes and whatnot bolted to them. Am I wrong in assuming this??

I was told the jeep tranfer cases were not the same and were not as beefed up as the ones in our trucks?
MrRuckuss,
I noticed your sig says you went back to stock headlights, you had the ones I use.. did you ever swap the blue and black wires to correct the wiring? They come wired wrong from the factory in china and have for years. Thats why the high beam indicator stayed on and they were so dim... also your lows and highs should never be on at the same time..the wiring cant handle it.
Once you swap those two wires around everything works great (at least it did for me)... I actually have HID's in mine now

This is true to a point, the Dodge NP231 cases have a wider chain and sprockets, but since the casting numbers on the main housing are the same, then it should be the same piece, which is all i need. Ill update with the info once i find out
