i got it somewhere on the internet where ever it was cheapest, maybe here.

i made a cardboard template, then cut it out of a piece of flat steel about 1/8 inch thick. i used a bandsaw, but a jigsaw would have worked too.
Yeah, that's where i'm going to get my firestik at but i'll probably get the 4 foot one. But does the antenna come with that size of spring?

Springs are usually separate... they go for about 10-15 bucks

Oh ok. I'm guessin they help with wind resistance when your driving down the road to put some stress off the antenna then? Would it help if i got the 4 foot antenna, or would that be too tall as it is?

It can some but, the major reason most people use springs is for it to absorbs the shock and allow it to bend when you smack a tree, drive thru overhang, etc.

thing to remember is when it comes to CB the longer the antenna the better. that is why the 102" whip is the most recommended. Personally on my past pickups i always ran a 5' fiberglass wilson with a spring.

Alright, but i got some news. I went to my grandfathers today before work and he had about 4 or so CBs laying around! I'm going to make another thread and show you guys them and see what you think. Plus, he found some antennas but their only magnetic. Oh well, it's a good start i guess.

The new thread: https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...-we-found.html

I have a kick *** one that I'm selling if your interested.

It's a Uniden PC 68LTW and had it beefed to the max so I'm running like 49.5 watts, respectfully. CB's are set to only run 7 watts to meet FAA regulations and it is unlawful to tweak them, but mine is tweaked!......LOL......If anyone is interested make me a good offer via PM message.

And this is no internet special, I sat there and watched the tweak with my own eyes. This wasn't no cheapo job either! I've personally smoked people radios because they didn't have their SWR's set up right. So ya you have to set this puppy up.

Also be careful because there is a few TSB's out there that interfere with the radios.....Heads up!
