In order to rent one for 150, you would need to have 150. haha.

I managed do get ahold of a tester. fuel pressure builds and holds at right around 50psi.

I'm starting to think that it's the cam sensor.



any more ideas?

Got spark? Got injector pulse? (you can get a noid light for testing that cheap.)

If it's the cam sensor, then remove it from the distributor and physically inspect it for any cracks or other damage. It's a good idea to clean the contacts of the pigtail and coat them with di-electric grease.

well. the guys at autozone AND o'reillys said that my vehicke isn't equiped with a cam sensor. while im holdong the sensor in my hand.

IM getting a backfire every now and then, is that normal?

Tell them you want a pickup coil... It's just listed under that name at the parts stores. It's easy to replace- just take your time and don't pull the wires apart... Make sure you put it back with the correct side facing up.

I will tell you, if you replace the crank and cam sensors and can't at least fire it with starting fluid sprayed into an open throttle body... I would be computer.

Backfire thru the intake? That typically would indicate you have spark and gas, but you have a valve open to the intake. This could be a stuck valve or more likely timing.

My backfire was cured by replacing the crank sensor. I got the injectors to fire when I replaced the cam sensor (pickup coil) and I got the truck to start when I took e water out of the gas!
