Default 02 sensor question

I heard that you can get a resistor from radio shack and put it between the 02 sensors and not have them in the exhaust, and it will run at the factory air/fuel mixture setting.

Is this true?

No. The resistor would give the PCM a fixed value for the return signal, and would set a code.

Why would you not want your O2 sensor in the exhaust? I could see doing the non-fouler trick on the post-cat O2, if your cat is hollow.... but, the pre-cat O2 sensor plays an important role in the efficiency of your engine. You WANT that feller in place, and doing his job properly.

I was going to run dual straight pipes and was wondering if it would work. What's the non fouler trick?

Which o2 are you talking about? The pre cat needs nothing. And here's the non fouler trick, that can be found in the FAQ/DIY section, along with a lot of other great info. I suggest you look through it.

The non fouler will work and is much cheaper than a simulator. Check out the link zman posted. It will explain it all

Should. Just need it in 1 pipe.

Wouldn't having one in each pipe throw off the readings?
