Question 99 dodge v10 488- start up issues

1999 dodge ram v10, when starting up, often, fires right up and then shuts down. sometimesit will do that 2,3,4times before it will run then runs good. have noticed it sounds like timing isn't quite right when shutsdown. cleaned throttle body, replaced iac valve and tps plus, cam and crank position sensors. have checked all electrical connections under hood.could map sensor cause this issue ? seems short on power at 75 mph at 2000 rpm .

+1 on checking fuel pressure. As engine begins to starve for fuel, it can seem like timing is off.

1999 dodge v10, checked fuel pressure is at 45 lbs , no codes showing did notice when engine is starting to die, given gas will stay running.recent rebuild on motor so everything on longblock is up to specs, mileage on truck is 100,000

Question

1999 dodge v10, yes, battery was disconnected, guess, with age of sensors was time to update, manifold absolute pressure sensor=map sensor seems to be a main sensor, that adjust fuel mixture and timing, from what i read on dodge forum . so what you guys think ?

Pull the front O2 sensor, and see if it runs any better. (physically remove it from the exhaust.)

Don't know about V10, but on V8 they go to PCM.

Have you gone to the FAQ/DIY section and download service manual?

Put your truck info in your sig, and profile, that way, you don't have to type it out each time either.
