loosen the main cap bolts about 1/4 to 1/2 inch but don't remove the bolts. (so the bolts will catch the cap when it comes loose). use either a rubber hammer, or a block or wood and a steel hammer and smack the cap on the side or the face. start gentle and increase force a little at a time. use the wooden block and don't hit metal on metal.

MARK THE CAPS so you put them back in the same place, same orientation.

Ha ha thanks guys...

So i took the serpentine belt off to help roll the crank over- its still off at the moment..

I am about to torque the rods back down but the crank wont budge after i torqued the mains back down....? is that normal?

I did 40-65-85 ft lbs on the main to make sure they went on straight too

No. It's not. You got something jammed up somewhere. Pull the mains, see what's up.

Did you get standard size bearings?

Just an FYI, I used a small 1/8" flat head and bumped the bearings just enough to slide them out- then used a tiny pair of needle nose pliers and pulled on them around the bottom of the journals as I wiggled the crankshaft back and forth

Yep they said STD on them for standard I assumed?

I wonder if my rear seal got boogered up as I lined it back up... I tried to offset it so the ends weren't flush where the cap meets the block hoping for a better seal.
