99-01 Ram Differences
I have a titled as 1995 Ram, 2500, regular cab Laramie SLT. Problem is the truck is a 1999-01 Ram, 1500, Extended Cab Laramie SLT. 4 door means 97 or newer and rotating ***** for lights means 99 or newer. The VIN matches the title so registration and titling is not an issue. Parts might be but i am not sure. Is there a way to tell exactly what year it is? I am pretty sure there are no changes in parts between 99-01 or with the 5.9 motor (gas). Excellent truck it just has me baffled.
Checked the stickers and they all match. Also have an autocheck on the truck that matches up the numbers. No history of accidents either though it did show at an auto auction with just over 11,000 miles. If I pull the engine I guess I can check the codes but from what I understand they will practically go forever and I only have 126,000 miles. VIN tag does not look messed with so if a swap of anything was done I need to find those folks cuz holy crap did they do a fine job.
Door stickers say 95 as well??
That's one rare truck ya got there.
Contact dodge, and get a build sheet for it. (link in faq section.) See what it came with from the factory. I kinda doubt it was a one-off four-door..... but hey, ya never know.
I am going to guess that someone did indeed do a cab swap there, and did do a very good job of it. Take a look in the glove box, and see if there is a sticker in there yet. See what that one says.

No sticker in the glove box. Will post pics maybe that will help. What is average mileage for a 5.9 gas engine? Thing runs like it is new. Was well taken care of. I actually traded it in once and ended up buying it back from the dealer for the same price I traded it in for. It sat for a year and they tried not to sell it back. Said it had VIN problems. Deal was signed though so they had no choice but to sell. Probably not a big issue but damn does it have me stumped.
10 to 12 around town, little better on the freeway.... they are not known for their stellar fuel economy.....
Wonder if there are vin stickers on any of the other body panels..... some manufacturers did that trick for a while.....

Here are a few pics of the inside and the front. Dont know if something might set off a cue or identify it. Will check the body panels. Maybe it is a one off but probably a DMV screw up.

That is def a 98 or newer body. A pic of the engine bay from a few angles could help me narrow down the year of the drivetrain, if its 95 or newer. Whoever did the swap did a good job. Nice truck. You can upload pics to photobucket and post the IMG tag to post pics in the thread.
