I had a fiberglass heat reduction hood on my TJ that I wasn't happy with. Always wished I'd bought a steel AEV hood back when they were selling them. So I took a steel hood and added a Poison Spyder hood louver panel and GenRight hood louvers to it.

Drilled a LOT of holes in it first.

Finally ready to start doing some cutting.

That air nibbler made short work of all the cutting I had to do.

The louvers installed

Mounted on the Jeep. Since I don't have a safety latch on my rig I added hood pins. These AeroCatch hood pins are lockable which keeps people out of my engine compartment.

I've got two DTC's in the engine right now. Camshaft Position Crankshaft Position sensor. They'll be here Tuesday and then I co do another road test with the rig.

I didn't see that. Got a link to it?

It's been a LONG road. I do miss the burble that the Magnum had compared to the Hemi but this Hemi has got some power.

Took the Jeep on it's first shakedown run.

Here's a few shots from the day too.

It looked great crawling over these rocks.

Flexed pretty good. Had to take the tires down to 5 PSI to get them to flex since they are new.

It was a whole new learning experience for me trying to drive this this after 10 years of no off-road driving.

My guide for the day has been a LONG time buddy. I've known him since the days I used to wheel in a Suzuki Samurai. And his buggy used to be a Toyota pickup.

I pinched the drivers side brake line.

Will have to reroute how the drivers side brake line runs.

Also split the boot on the passenger side RCV boot.

And my 1997 Ram 1500 just wasn't up to the task of pulling this heavy weight Jeep so I got a 4th Gen 2012 Ram 2500 Mega cab CTD

Got home yesterday & the new truck pulled the Jeep over Snoqualmie Pass like a Rock Star.

The Hemi did great on the trail. My one issue with the drivetrain was that the transmission was getting warmer than I'd like. 220* towards the end of the day & it was only 40* outside. So I plan to add a second cooler with a built in fan under the tub un the rear. But overall it was a great time and I'm happy with all the work I'd done to the Jeep.

Good deal. That's the most important part. And it should have a good long service life for ya.
