The rods are stock length rods and now that all the confusion about the KB pistons is gone there isn't any issues as far as I am concerned. The KB pistons in my engine are just fine and do not require the oil spacer ring.

You are correct that all the Magnum stroker kits use the same length rods. Except if you decide to use Viper rods then you have to have custom pistons made because the Viper rods are 0.098" longer than stock rods.

I have the book called "How to Build Big-Inch Mopar Small Blocks" and in it the list of manufactures that make stroker pistons are: Diamond, Hughes Engines, KB Performance, Mopar Performance, Probe Industries, Ross & Wiseco. And Diamond & KB have the largest selection. You can also use GM slugs with a few modifications.

At this point after doing a butt load of searching and reading on the net I am totally fine with the KB pistons. It seems that the main issue people have with the KB Hyper pistons is not setting the ring gap properly. So it is more or less just like the gapless rings issues. It is people being lazy or not paying attention.

Howdy guys,
Well I thought I was going to be able to buy stuff for my Jeep Friday but the ex made sure that I won't get to this month.

Here is some stuff I have been gathering for the past 2-3 months.

Name: IMG_1679_zps73296c33.jpg
Views: 313
Size: 9.40 MB

ARP Head Studs
ARP Oil Pan studs
ARP Balancer bolt
ARB Flex Plate bolts
ARB Torque Converter
Hughes Engine Intake manifold bolts
Hughes Engine Water pump & Timing Cover bolts
Hughes Engine Cam bolt & washer

So I have a good collection going so far. Since I am going to send my engine into the machine shop I think I might get main cap studs while I am at it.

No I'll assemble it myself. If I screw it up so be it.

Edit: Derick,
What are you trying to say? Think I am going to screw it up?

It is the torque converter that came with the tranny. Martin Saine built the tranny and included the converter with it.

Ordered this today.

It took me about an hour to get it done but I did it. And I was able to use gift cards I got for Christmas so it only cost me $4.19 of my own money. So this is the start. Next month I'll order the new rings. I have decided that I am going to try the Total Seal gapless rings.

Think I had the same cam bolt and washer, the bolt was slightly longer and the washer was thinner, the bolt bottomed out and couldn't tighten down. Reused the old cam bolt.

How will those pistons compliment your build? Do they change comp ratio, are they lighter, wider, and do they protrude out of the block?

No these are the pistons that came with the stroker kit. When I was pulling the engine apart I dropped the #2 piston and broke the side of the skirt off. So I had to order 1 new piston. I have just had to wait because I am also going thru a divorce and have been short on funds.
