Yep I could do that or just tilt the Jeep with my air bags.

I thought of something like that also.

If I do reuse this radiator I also need to get the side plates rewelded because it sits 2 1/2" to high right now. So I have to find a shop that can weld aluminum.

Yes well like I said I have been looking at this damn thing now for 6 months and the more I look at it the more I hate it. I took some more pictures and I want everyone to look at the drivers side tank. Notice how small it is? I don't know squat about radiator design but that just doesn't sit right with me any more than the filler neck. And yes the simple solution is to just add a filler in the top hose.

Now nothing to do with the radiator but here are shots of my new rims. I got these made for me by Stazworks.

They are some awesome rims and he makes rims for the military plus lots of other folks. Check him out the next time your looking for rims.

I still have two to get mounted up so when I get ready to do that I will show everyone how they go together.

Tank size isn't really all that much of an issue, its the fins and tubes that provide the cooling, larger tanks just give you more coolant capacity.

I agree, the design there does leave something to be desired...... but, any of the previous suggests should take care of that for you. Either that, or just replace the radiator, and sell that one....

Rims are nice. How much were those?

The rims are a two piece rim like Hummer rims so you end up with a dual beadlock wheel that will handle pretty much anything you throw at it. You can't tell looking at it but the silver part is one section and the black is another section so it is two complete half's. The wheels were $315 I think and then the rock ring was $30 or $40 more. Now this price includes powdercoating the color you want.

315 each?

Be a long time before I had that kind of money to spend on wheels...... (and then my wheels would be worth more than the rest of the truck.......) Yep. Living on a 'fixed' income sucks.

Ya it took me 3 years to save up enough to buy those rims plus use my tax return. Ain't like I have that kind of money all the time to spend.

It sounds like a lot of money until you start looking at what you really get. Any beadlock rim is going to cost more than a regular rim. Then on top of that the rim comes with the insert that makes it a dual beadlock. And it includes the powder coating. That is a $100 feature right there. What do you think rims like this should cost?

Those look great WM! Stazworks has been on my short list for sure. What I have not been able to tell is if they try to balance the assembly? I read that they clean up welds, fill/turn down where needed, but that doesn't necessarily imply for balance. More for true/plumb/etc. Any idea on this? For me that is important considering street-ability.

Thanks

I suspect the price is right in line, for what you are getting. But, I don't do that hard-core of off-roading that I even need bead-locks..... The trails around here just aren't that severe, and I don't really need to air down my tires that much either, so, for me, they would be SERIOUS over-kill. For what you do with your rig though, I am thinkin' its a good investment, and worth what you paid for them.

WK,
I can't tell you how good or bad they will balance out yet since I haven't tried to balance them. When I had my Hummer rims I never had any balance problems. 38" tires aren't that easy to balance anyways. I wouldn't be too worried about then not balancing out. You can always run BB's in them too if they are causing you problems. I use to run my Jeep down the road at 60-75MPH with no problems and had zero weights on them.

This is true if you don't need a rim like this then it is a waste of money.

This was with my Hummer dual beadlocks and 2psi in the tires. I was floating on top of the snow while others were getting buried.

He's running a 37" tire on this Jeep. But didn't want to drop his air low enough to float on the snow. You need to be down in the single digit range.
Kinda like this.
