Just get some from the junkyard and wire up a basic on/off switch. Just don't forget to turn it off....or on for that matter....

Not JUST plugging another member here, but I bought this place on e-bay BEFORE I knew he was a member.....and it was probably the best investment for the dollar that I made on my Ram. The savings over the Hughes plate almost pays for the double roller timing set.

And + "however" many on doing this right away and the valve cover gaskets, cat and O2 sensor.

The oil you save will pay for the cost of the repair. The improved performance is like icing on the cake!

Are you guys just talking about the plate or the repair kit from Hughes? with all of what's in the kit I think it's not too bad of a deal.

Price the plate/bolts from blkdak, and a gasket kit locally, then see which is the better deal.

Well I looked for the gasket for the timming chain and it was 30$ locally, hughes have the water pump and timming chain gaskets for 10$ so after that I didn't asked about the gaskets for the plenum and the intake. Nuts and bolts are cheap anywhere. A plate plus shipping from ebay on top of expensive gasket kits and it's pretty close to what the kit cost. Maybe not for you guys down the States but for me in middle of nowhere east coast of Canada it's not a bad deal when you have to drive half an hour to get some bolts.

Timing set should have the gaskets for it. Intake gaskets locally most likely best price available. Bolts for plate come with plate from blkdak.

Shipping may eat the savings to Canada...but Hughes has to ship from US to Canada also.....

Go with the best deal you can get obviously, but savong money is good...especially with the cost of little things...like gas....and the quality of the plate from blkdak - fits perfect, works great.

I had to buy gaskets separately from the timing gears and such. It came with the water pump gasket..... (as did my water pump....I have a spare.)
