There are some purchasable version that will also let you WRITE to the PCM..... I.E. do your own tuning.

I'm on that website, but which one should I get that will allow me to read fuel sync?

On the Dakota with a 258/252 @.50" 576/584 @ 4º cam I'm still on the stock PCM tuned with a email tunes w/ an SCT by Chris at PIE and it's forced into open loop all the time, we are still trying to getit to idle but the WOT AF is 12.8 to 13.1

I set my sync a +4

Next year I'll either be carbed or running a FAST XFI I have sitting on a shelf...Any tuning done with a lap top is going to be a huge learning curve and SCT is one of the hardest from what I understand.

Well I guess I'm just going to buy this product and set my fuel syn myself and see what works for me. Sean with Hemifever is doing my tunes for me. He told me he would start off with a pre installed tune based off the info I give him then send me tunes via email to get it running good.

Snap On 2500 series scanner is pretty reasonable. They have ben discontinued by Snap On so they can be found on ebay pretty cheap. Since Snap On does not supprt it any longer, I have come to learn that Texassizedeals on ebay (he's in Houston) has been very helpful to me on this. Has the components such as modules, keys etc.

And it allows me to set fuel sync, and is not limited to one vehicle.

Yep. Cartridge is Ford-GM-Chrysler (through 1999 for mine) and the Personality Key 13. I use same cart with different key for other vehicles I have (or family members) and the nappropriate cartridge for Yota and other vechicles. Have accumlated a number of cartridges and other connectors for non OBD compliant vehicles. Darn thing is great!

If only I had the extra money to afford all that. Looks I'm keeping my appointment with stealership.
