Software can be had for Free. PCMScan (what I have) you can download off the net. Cables are available at a variety of sources. Turns you laptop into a really nice scanner.

You can read more parameters than you can shake a forest at, including fuel sync.

I guess I could always just buy this:

Then download the PCMSCAN for free from here:

Am I heading in the right direction?

You can download an evaluation copy for free...Gotta buy a license to use it.
EDIT: I downloaded the evaluation copy and did a search for fuel sync...Nothing. Dodge isn't even listed in the menu.

I've been on Dakota R/T forums since 2003, many of the guys on the Dakota forums have been modding these things (5.9 Magnum V-8) since they 1st came out in 1998, no one has ever said anything about using any 3rd party software to set fuel sync and/or tune these things. And some of those guys are putting down 500 to 600 hp with Tubos or Blowers, tuning is a huge problem on these things...We aren't Cheebies or Furds.

Prior to SCT, our only choice if using the JTEC PCM was Dave Casper at B&G for a PCM flash where you had to send the PCM in, or Tom Fox.

SCT does have the PRP package so you can tune your own but from what I hear it ain't easy to learn and the tuners out there like "Hemifever" lock their tunes so you can't build on it.

If there was 3rd party software that would allow us to set fuel sync and tune these motors...I'd know about it, and be all over it.

So...What I'm saying is it doesn't exist. But please prove me wrong.

I would be hesitant to tune my own.....there would be no limit on what I could screw up! And paying someone to fix my mess....well, it has always proven to be too costly....

Only options for DIY tuning are a standalone like Big stuff, Fast XFI, Measquirt or the SCT Pro Racer Package.

But yeah, DIY is way out of my league too...Unless it's a carb.
