Valve Timing Questions
Rich said my cam is advanced 4°. So what would I set it at then?
That's why I suggest picking up a scanner that can read sync.... and see what works best for you..... If the valve is already partially open, I don't see that as being a real problem, all it means is air will already be moving when gas is added...... stock injectors are 'pencil beam' squirters..... so... I don't think it will matter overmuch.
Save some pennies, and then pick up a good scanner.... or, if you have a laptop computer, download free software, and pick up a cable (fifty bucks or so), and have a REALLY good scanner.

PCMScan, and a host of others..... I think there is a site out on the web, that has links, and reviews, on a selection of them.
There are some purchasable version that will also let you WRITE to the PCM..... I.E. do your own tuning.

I don't think there is any software we can get that will allow us to tune these things short of the SCT PRP package.
There was a whole community based on custom tuning the OBDI GM systems.... required some serious hoop jumping, but, once set up, was amazingly easy to do.... (steep learning curve though...) Could obtain some amazing results.....
I believe the dealership uses the DRB 3 scan scan tool. I just read on bionic dodge that with a higher lift, especially one with advanced timing already ground into it that setting it +4 to +12 helps. Im ordering my SCT Stage 1 Custom Tuning tuner on the 14th. From there I'm sure I can fine tune things.
So I will have to find a cable that goes from my laptop to my obd2 plug? Then find the software to read it?
