Stock cam height may indeed be non-interference, but that's only .432" lift on a 5.2L with the stock pistons .050" in the hole, I believe. The 5.9L gets significantly more clearance due to the dished piston, and only a .418" lift on the stock cam.

I never actually measured the depth of the combustion chamber on my heads, but my gut says it's pretty close to touching in the stock configuration at the two extremes. Add a performance cam, and it could easily go over.

Did you use that JP Performance set? The crank sprocket is double marked for clarity, the 0 on the outside circle should face straight up to the cam sprocket mark, the 0 on the inner circle is for the crank key way. I'm wondering if you transposed those somehow.
Yes sir, I sure did use that set. I may have read it wrong, but I got it to where the outside 0 on the crank sprocket is facing straight up at 12 and the cam gear is doing the same. #1 is at TDC compression. Is that right? 10 of the 16 pushrods were indeed bent. Would me having a higher than stock spring rate be too much for my stock pushrods?

Cam gear should have been at 6, crankshaft should be at 12 dot to dot. With this being out 180 you might have bent the push rods when tqing down the rockers as the motor was not in time.

Well compression test isn't even reading. On the compression stroke it sounds like the pressure is being let out the bottom of the piston back into the crankcase.

^^^Oh crap! do you have access to a boreascope? I doubt you put a hole in the piston more like a bent valve. Time to pull those heads.

This would let you see down in the jug, see if you holed the piston.

Well the timing set will only line up at TDC #1 compression stroke with the cam gear dot at 12 and the crank gear at 12.
