Catalytic Converter
i saved at least $40 ordering a o2 sensor from rock auto. certain part just seem so expensive locally. the last order i placed at rock auto saved me $300 compared to if i bought it all locally.
Well, with my repair shop at NAPA I can get o2 sensors for $50 each, but rock auto is the cheapest. For the y-pipe, I am going to see if a local welding shop can make one. Guess how much the local Dodge dealer wanted for a new catalytic converter? $700!!!
Correct. And for the Iowans, our most wonderful legislators are trying to get us that dream of emissions testing like California. So guess what? If they do like they have said (and its hard to guess what they will do knowing that they are politicians) they will do, I will have to put about $1500 into this truck to pass testing!!

I would not loose any sleep over that....unless your state legislature is comprised of tree huggers.......that is not the current trend at this point in time.
+1...but you never know..that's all I'm saying about politics...techningeer, I checked advanced auto $220 for your truck and it's cake easy to install..It comes in two pieces..mine was $350 and for some fu8*8ng reason they started making it one hole unit...maybe they knew I was working off my back with almost no clearance..Anyways, rock auto could be even cheaper..and it's four flange bolts (two at either EM end) and one u-clamp at the cat inlet...
Opinion wanted: Cat failed, total cloggage, truck wouldn't even start.. Do you think lots of those metals and stuff blew dowstream into the muffler and possibly partially clogged it/affected it? And, shouldn't the CEL came on? Thanks
