Engine and Plenum fixes...

That is your IAT sensor, It does not look like the F1 has a spot for it hmmmm. The M1 puts it right under the TB is there a spot to drill and tap threads into the adapter plate?
Don't worry about getting that other coolant plug out the block is 90% m/t now. No primer is needed but the parts have to be spotless and grease free, when I clean a block for paint I scrub it with paint reducer and scotch bright pads.

Things ground to a halt today... And not for the best. Was cleaning the throttle body yesterday with a degreaser, but then got called into work. Forgot about it. Came back to it today, the entire thing is covered in a white crystaline substance that is not easily coming off... Not thinking this is a good thing.

I.... do not. Suggestions on where to get it?
And since it is such a large build up, will it have caused damage? Will the acid stop the chemical process or will I need to do something after it?
Well... I did want that Hughes Engines TB.... What a downer though, kinda puts me off for the night. Thanks for the info though, if I can find some...

Edit: Just looked it up, hydrochloric acid. I can pick up some from the local home depot or rona. I'll give it a shot tomorrow when I'm off work.

Hey Merc,
Just wanted to say thanks for the advice. Cleaned up nicely. Looks darker now, but whatever. I'm hoping it's still useable, but more importantly, I am hoping it can still be swapped as a core as I want to install the Hughes Engines 52mm one once I get everything back together and next pay day hits

Question about installing the brass nipples into the new intake. It says to use a thread sealant. Having never really played with this aspect of stuff, I looked around in my garage to see what I had. Found two products, both Permatex.
One is "Ultra Black":
http://www.permatex.com/products/aut...sket_maker.htm
The other is "Ultra Copper":
http://www.permatex.com/products/Aut...sket_Maker.htm
It seems perhaps a silly question to put out there, but since I don't typically use the stuff I figure it couldn't hurt to ask.

Different part of the engine, but I've been eyeing it for a bit - thinking I should replace it. Concensus?
Looks like the bulk of it has been beaten and closed, and considering there appears to be a transmission cooler behind it before even getting to the radiator... might be blocking a fair amount of air flow. I could also be out to lunch. Thoughts?
