magnum valve train and heads on la block?

Yea it will all go in there, but you need a way to bolt the lifter retaining spider plate thing down. And ya might have to do a lil grinding at the top of the lifter bores for the dog bones to be happy haha. A mag block would make it alot easier on ya though.

Not to mention that the LA block uses a completely different method to get oil to the top of the engine than the magnums.....

And the lifter bores are at a different angle.......

I already got the la 360 block.only magnum blocks around here i could find are 318's.
the la have oil throu push rods too oil the heads right?

nope..... they use a series of holes in the cam, and push oil up thru to the rocker arms.

take a look here and you will see what i mean.

ok but if i use the magnum lifters and rods it should oil the rockers fine right?

on the stock 72 360 pistons with the magnum heads shaved .040 anyone know what my compression ratio will be?

Yea with mag lifters an pushrods it will oil through the pushrods
The mag heads block off the oil holes on the block deck where the la heads get oil.

with the oil holes being blocked off it wont cause any problems with it?

Nope lol. Magnum heads don't use them. Use mag lifters/amc and pushrods with the oil holes through them to get oil up top.

why amc push rods?i just had my magnum 318 apart and it had the hollow push rods in it.
