transfer case compatibility
Any one no what transfer case will work in a 2000 Dodge Dakota 4door v6 standard 5 speed .the case went chain broke but some one broke the I'd tag off so don't no what it is any ideas
Probably the NV231D. Should be fairly common, as they were used in the half ton trucks as well. Keep in mind, you will want one from a 98 or newer truck, as quite a bit changed between 97 and 98.
I’d get the bigger yoke and a bastard ujoint to run the 241. Especially since you’ve already gone to the trouble of buying and putting it in. Its a good bit stronger case...
The output shaft for a 46re, NV3500, or NV4500 Light Duty (v8 version) is a 23 spline shaft, whether it's a 1/2 ton, 3/4 ton, or 1 ton.
Auto t-cases won't fit behind a manual, because they have a slightly longer input shaft, but manuals will be fine behind an auto. Either way, you could just swap the input from your original case to any dodge 231/241 and be safe.
