You sure it's not the belt and is actually the bearing?

I believe theres 3 types of alternators for our trucks.....90, 110, 120 amp alternators depending on what you have for accessories you might want to make sure you get a 120...i bought a 120 amp from VIP and it was like $115 i believe...my alternator has had no problem powering my subs...and i have all electric options...power windows etc......i dont even get lights dimming when subs hit....but i got a new battery as well

136 was the largest stock alt on a gas motor. Might be larger available at the store though..

Is there any disadvantage to having the largest output alt on your truck?

Get quality parts you need for a lot less than a "repainted" unit or brand new. Alternators are a snap to rebuild.

Just a suggestion...see if there are any shops locally that specialize in rebuilding starters and alternators. Call them, find out a little about them and what parts they use to rebuild them.

I have local access to a shop that rebuilds alternators with American made high quality parts, with lifetime warranty, for between $60 and $80. They polish and paint cases if requested, and I have found their work is far superior to the work that goes into the remanufactured units from the chain stores.

My Durango alternator has started squeaking too so maybe this weekend I'm going to pull the alternator and drop if off for a rebuild.
