transmission crossmember

Default transmission crossmember

anyone got any tips or tricks to get this sucker back in? i can't figure it out and i'm by myself. lol been beating on it with a hammer for the past half hour, but i can't get it to budge in where it its suppose to be. any help is appreciated. thanks!

Set it in behind where it fits in. Bang it upwards, then forward.

put it above the frame, and drop it into place, then do what ya gotta to get it forward to the right spot.

Its hard to maneuver it anywhere because the transfer case and transmission gets in the way. Ill try some more positions. Just a huge PITA lol youd think they would have made an easier way or approach for it.

Try cussing it more! I've helped with a transmission replacement on a Chevy 1500 4wd and putting the cross member back was fairly easy, never messed with one on the Dodge.

Well dodge decided itd be an awesome idea to slant the mount on the frame. So it basically turns the crossmember into a giant spring that needs to be pounded in. Its quite ridiculous.

you might try a piece of 2x4 or 2x2 about 1/4 inch longer than the frame opening and knock it in as a spreader.
