Proper gears. fix the plenum good tune-up will all help.. Dont expect any more than 12-15 mpg out of a good running truck though.. If you want more I suggest selling the truck and buying a honda

Gears would be the first thing I would consider. (after fixing everything else. plenum, tune-up, etc.) Of course, they are the most expensive as well.......

I've used the superchips tuner on both a grand cherokee and my ram. The options that the superchips provide is probably superior to the sct by hemifever, but the sct will get you more noticeable hp gains. Overall, I'm happy with the superchips (i run the 87 octane tune but i may switch it to the 91 soon), i think you'll notice a difference just in the way the truck runs and shifts. I currently get 12-13 mpg but i have 4.10 gears and only stock tires. with 35 inch tires, you should be running atleast 4.10s, 4.56s would be better

Yes lots of guys have used superchips... But you may want to fix other issues before putting a chip in... The only thing superchips has over SCT is the ability to calibrate the speedo.. I personally could care less about that and would go with SCT any time.

SIX MPG? It ain't a tune you need, it's a repair.

FWIW, if you go Superchips the towing tune would probably increase your mileage better than the economy tune would. But first figure out what's broke and fix it.
