Default random start problem

I have a 2001 dodge ram 4x4 with a 5.2 the truck will run good then you can cut it off and go to start it up and it will just spin over and over if I wait about 30 mins and then it will start right up but it will have a slight skip to it. the truck has gas to the motor it but no spark. it has no cel on and it has 140000 miles on and about a month ago I put new plugs wires cap and button in it what could be making it skip and not fire up at times

No spark would tend to point at the crank sensor.

For future reference, the 01's let you do the "key trick", cycle the ignition on, off, on, off, on, and codes will display on the odometer.

Parts stores can read the codes for you, and a basic code reader is pretty cheap. I recommend getting one. Knowing the code that was set is important to proerly diagnosing failures.
