P0783 after rebuild
Truck is a 99 1500 4x4, 46re, all stock. 76k. Rebuilt Trans has less than 500 miles on it. Since I've had it back on the road I've noticed a rattle coming from what seems like the Trans while under load in OD and some times in 3rd. The other day I was on the highway, cruise set at 70. Started up a hill and it shifted out of OD fine. Cleared the hill but never shifted out of 3rd. CEL came on later on with the P0783 code. Today while driving some back roads at lower speeds(55 max) it shifted in and out of OD but would hang in 3rd for what seemed like too long. Tq locks and unlocks fine and all other gears are fine. I've read up on the possible culprits and am aware of the sensor and selinoid but with a fresh rebuild I'm hoping to rule those out. One other thing I've noticed is the speedometer doesn't move until about 10-15 mph. Could this contribute to my issue or something completely different. Just wanted to run my particular situation by y'all and see what you think. I know there are countless threads about this and even a diagnostic thread which I have all read. Just felt this was a different scenario.
Thanks in advance for any help given!

It sounds electrical. I'd start with the vehicle speed sensor because of the speedometer acting the way it does, however the P0783 code indicates a 3 to 4 shift malfunction which maybe steers me away from that and towards the shift solenoid. Sit tight though, I'm sure a flood of suggestions will come in from guys here that know more about this than I do. I'm still green to the Chrysler world.

Thanks for your input bud. I've priced the master kit from cascade:

just incase. Since its a fresh rebuild I'm hoping none of this stuff has **** the bed yet.

Good job pricing kit from Cascade......but......did you check anywhere else? Get trans overhaul kit for that price elsewherem such as wittrans or PATC.
I would not touch anything on it...take it back to shop. Don;t give them a chance to use the "you voided the warranty" line! Suggest checking fluid level, warmed up, in NEUTRAL first. Most obvious free checks are often overlooked. Shop needs to see code (or they may not believe you....)
