understand the bearing thing
The hub bearing is eventually going to go bad more likely than not, so you might as well get the socket. Only problem is, that you'll need a torque wrench capable of 180 foot pounds to re install it. Which you'll need a torque wrench capable of at least 125 to re install the hub assembly bolts anyway.
ive got the u joint in now and all is ok but now the problem is there is a seal/dust boot whatever its called messed up this part slides on the axle all the way up to the yoke. and mine was gone, i tried all the normal auto parts stores o`reilys, auto zone, and advanced and they don't have a clue what it is ive looked in the service manual and it shows nothing, anybody have a clue what this is called or even better a part number? when you put the axle back into the housing it just rest in the opening but is pressed onto the axle

yes there is c-clips on the axle u-joints. and the snap rings are on the drive shafts.mine was a major pain in the back side because before i got it somehow it got damanged around the axle yokes/u-joint and i had to grind off the damaged yoke so the u-joint caps would slide through. good luck with yours

But some axles shafts are retained in side the diff by C Clips.
That dust shield is just that. It serves little use as is. You can get a nice seal that has a grease fitting.

end seals
where did you find those seals in the pic gota web site? what do they do slip into the axle housing?

Yeap, they wedge into the housing. Once you pull the shaft clean the tube out a little, I use a vacuum and longer hose. then pop these in.
