Yeap, they wedge into the housing. Once you pull the shaft clean the tube out a little, I use a vacuum and longer hose. then pop these in.

Reason the dont like the CAD axle is because its much larger and will not fit thru the hole. I thought some Ram front axles did not have the cad system? If so then swap axles out and you can use them.
But to answer other question about using them to keep oil IN, NO, it will not do that well.
If you have a bad seal and it leaks a little, then they will be fine to use. But not full on oil seal.

by the way i went to the local dodge dealer here and they dont even list the factory cover, but shows it on a brand spanking 300 buck axle.
